Former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski will make his return to the cage Aug. 27 at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu. He will face heavyweight prospect Joe McCall. ATO learned of the matchup from a source close to the fighters.
Arloviski has had a rough stretch lately. After winning 6 straight in the UFC from 2002 to 2005 “The Pitbull” has lost his last four. Three of the losses were brutal first round knockouts. Arlovski was last seen getting knocked out against Sergei Kharitonov in the first round of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix.
McCall (9-2) is 3-1 in his last four fights and has been one of the top heavyweight free agents in the world. “Cujo” is a product of the HIT Squad in Granite City, Illinois.
