As you probably know, we are seriously trying to persuade US Figure Skating that not allowing Johnny to skate in the exhibition at Nationals on Jan. 30 after he receives his Readers' Choice Award--but inviting Evan Lysacek to do so--is a very bad decision in the long, sad history of bad decisions that comprises USFS v. Johnny up to this point.
My impeccable underground sources tell me that, in addition to our Twitter campaign, alerting as many Johnny-friendly media outlets as possible with this info might help. So below is the whole case in a nutshell, to help perhaps inspire you to send your own emails if you wish (or not--there's no pressure, no obligation, and no salesman will call).

I thought you might be interested in this, if you haven't already heard about it:
Johnny Weir is scheduled to be presented with the Readers' Choice Award/Michelle Kwan Trophy for the SECOND time in his career at the US Figure Skating National Championships in North Carolina on January 30 at the exhibition gala. He is the ONLY skater other than Michelle Kwan to ever win the award more than once.
When it was announced last July that he had won the award, it was hoped that he might be allowed to skate at the exhibition after receiving the award, as a thank-you performance for all the thousands who voted for him.
But the "rules-are-rules" USFS was very clear: The exhibition is ONLY for skaters who are competing in the current season AND who finish in the top three at Nationals. Since Johnny is not competing, he won't be medaling, and thus cannot perform.
But: It was just annnounced this week that Evan Lysacek--who ALSO is not competing this season and ALSO will not be medaling at Nationals--has been invited BY USFS to perform in the exhibition.
Why is USFS breaking its own rules for Evan but not for Johnny?
They claim it's to help promote the movie RISE, backed by USFS. Really? So all of a sudden a movie trumps the integrity of USFS's own rules?

Да ладно, это предложение Бинки уже везде гуляет. Если бы Джонина команда посчитала его неправильным, то давно бы попросили прекратить.

can all REQUEST that they do so! And yes, I doubt that they'll listen. But
