-How do you feel after you finished the show?
-I am very satisfied. In the beginning I felt a little nervous as my condition was not perfect enough. Recently I was busy, and I could not spare enough time for being on the ice. But, the audience gave me enough energy for me to skate. I was really glad from the reaction of my performance. Of course, a new program with Dima was also fun.

-How did you make the performance with Dima?
-I received an offer to have a performance with Dima. “Safety” is a number one hit song in Europe and Russia now. I am very honored he chose me to be a skater to skate with this music. I made and finished up the choreography with my coach Galina in two days.

-This is the first time to skate “Heart Broken” in Japan, isn’t it?
-Yes. I made this program right after the Olympics. I still felt the feeling of disappointment freshly at that time. Disappointment does not mean my performance. I think my performance was wonderful. But, the result was not. If you are an athlete, you want to get a medal. There are a lot of “Heart Broken” situations, this program symbolizes my feeling at that time. I imagined the pictures of Nureyev and Baryshinikov. After a beautiful show, a dancer taking off make-up and wearing practice wear, sitting and receiving a ray of sunlight. I imagined that kind of picture. Therefore, I made my costume simple.

-You designed Yuzuru Hanyu’s costume, didn’t you?
-I told him that “if you need my help, you can call me any time” at the Fantasy on Ice show at Niigata. It is important that senior generations help young generations. His performance remained in my mind and I was very happy he became a junior champion. Then, several weeks ago, I received the offer from his coach to design his costume of “Zigeunerweisen” performance. I was very honored, because the costume is a very personal thing. It spends a lot of time in the skater’s life. I immediately sat at the desk, and drew 4 types of designs and sent them to him. At this show, he wore number 2. I imagined him moving from junior to senior, a boy to a man. The pink color represents his juvenile, and the dark red means an adult man. I wanted to express the width of the athlete, Yuzuru Hanyu. He also likes design number 4.

-The DVDs “Be Good Johnny Weir” was released in Japan.
-This is the next series of “POP STAR on ICE.” It follows me after the Olympics to May. Japan is the first country besides America that the film was seen, and I am very glad about it. Japan is a country which gives me many inspirations. This film invites you to my life. I think Japanese people will enjoy it.
